This completed project in Whitesand First Nation successfully addressed the Community's drainage and stormwater management challenges. With the implementation of detailed grading plans, regrading of ditches throughout the Community, the construction of a swale to divert water from the regional watershed, and the resizing of culverts throughout the Community based on a thorough watershed assessment, the improvements have significantly enhanced water flow and reduced the risk of flooding. Diversion swale have proven effective in managing excess water from the regional watershed, preventing overloading of the local drainage system and protecting nearby residences.

Whitesand First Nation now benefits from a durable, well‑engineered solution that mitigates health and safety risks, ensuring the long-term resilience of the Community’s infrastructure.
