Neskantaga First Nation Water Systems Assessment

SBA was retained by Neskantaga First Nation in 2021 to complete an assessment of the current water and wastewater systems within the Community. Through this assessment, SBA developed a detailed action plan including twelve action items that will facilitate removal of Canada’s longest standing 30-year Boil Water Advisory in the Community, once addressed. SBA has also established long-term water and wastewater solutions for the Community that will support growth over the next 20 years.

As part of this work, SBA has completed lake sampling, detailed on-site assessments and overseen test pit excavations. Throughout this process, community engagement has been of utmost importance to SBA and has led to coordination of archeological studies based on input received during multiple community open houses.
