The Lac Seul First Nation Kejick Bay Water Treatment Plant was substantially completed in December 2019. The commissioning of the new water treatment system allowed for the removal of a 16‑year long Drinking Water Advisory.

SBA was originally retained by Lac Seul First Nation to provide engineering services for the development of a new system in the Kejick Bay Island Community. SBA completed a Feasibility Study to perform an evaluation of all relevant background information including water quality, water supply, fire protection and community water demand needs in order to recommend a preferred solution. The SBA team then completed the full multi-discipline design for this project including developing the well supply, detailed process design, structural design of a new Water Treatment Plant inclusive of a concrete below-grade reservoir and the associated civil works including site works and watermain upgrades and hydrant replacements.

The Community has indicated an appreciation for the work that the SBA team completed in assisting the Community in removing a 16-year long-standing Drinking Water Advisory and working with Indigenous Services Canada, the Professional Project Manager and the Contractor in a successful project.
