The Town of Shelburne faced issues with arsenic levels in the water at the Well No.3 Pumphouse, which exceeded the maximum acceptable concentration. SBA was retained by the Town to provide design and construction services for upgrades to the existing Pumphouse No.3 Water Treatment Building located on Cedar Street between Susan Street and Muriel Street.

SBA designed and retrofitted a treatment system for the existing pumphouse, incorporating a new well pump, structural modifications and expansion of the existing building, supply and installation of arsenic removal treatment equipment, UV system, electrical and mechanical, SCADA control, HVAC and site works. This treatment process successfully lowers arsenic levels, ensuring safe drinking water for the residents of Shelburne. Total construction cost for the project amounted to approximately $2.9 million dollars.
